Ann Marie Long composed and arranged a beautiful angelic accompaniment for Twenty Six Bells that is absolutely amazing. It had been said that “the piano is an extension of Ann’s hands,” and she grabbed on to this project and made it her own.
Ann Marie Long was educated at Indiana University and the University of Illinois, where she studied piano with Natasha Magg and Andrea Swan of the Chicago Philharmonic. Ms. Long also studied with June Edison, a student of Menahem Pressler of the Beaux Arts Trio. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in piano and theory.
From 2000 to 2013, Ms. Long was the pianist for the Longview School District, as well as the pianist for St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Longview, Washington. She has been active with the Southwest Washington Symphony, The Astoria Chamber Players, Amicus Piano Trio, Celebration Concert Series, Columbia Choral Singers, Chor Anno, The American Music Group, Celebration Ringers, and Lower Columbia College Chorale. Currently she is a member of The Lower Columbia Threshold Choir.
Ms. Long and her husband, Gary, a violinist, are active participants in chamber music, as well as the Coachella Valley Symphony in Palm Springs, California.
