Playground Celebrating the Life of Daniel Gerard Barden

The Daniel Barden Playground ribbon cutting took place on October 27th, 2013 in Highlands, New Jersey. The playground was built in honor of Daniel Barden, a student at the Sandy Hook Elementary School. The Highlands playground is the eleventh playground created for the Where Angels Play Foundation.

This playground was inspired by Daniels uplifting and inspirational attitude. Daniel wanted to be a firefighter, which is why a firefighter spring toy is featured at the park.
The blue playground is adorned with drawings and messages from Daniel.

The Highlands were one of the worst hit locations during hurricane sandy, with 3/4ths of homes destroyed. This playground worked in a wonderful way to bring smiles to those affected by the storm.
