Playground Celebrating the Life of Emilie Alice Parker
The Emilie Parker playground was opened on November 17th, 2013 in honor of Emilie Parker, a student of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. The playground was built in New London, Connecticut and it is the fourteenth playground created for the Where Angels Play Foundation.
This playground is dedicated to Emilie Parker. The playground is decorated with Emilie's favorite colors, pink, black and blue. She loved the color pink and “being fancy”. She was also a little artist and her artwork is permanently displayed on the playground. Emilie's skin was fair, therefore, she loved the shade. Since her playground is surrounded by tall trees, her playground has been nicknamed “Emilie’s Shady Spot” .
