Joey’s Fund | Hope Fund

Joey’s Fund | Hope Fund is partnered with the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. Their website explains how this partnership began:

"When the Gay Family wanted to start a fund to honor their daughter, Josephine, who was tragically killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, they came to us. The Gay Family, just as the Flutie Family, knew that they were just one of many families affected by autism and had seen firsthand the difference the right resources can make.

"Today, Joey’s Fund serves as a crucial funding bridge for autism families who are advocating, promoting, supporting and seeking out opportunities for their loved ones. Since its inception, 193 families have received over $375,000 in financial support, making their journey just a little bit easier.

"At Joey’s Fund | Hope Fund, we believe that every family deserves meaningful and practical support in caring for their loved ones with autism. That’s why we offer a flagship direct financial support grant that connects deserving families with the resources they need to enhance their lives. We understand that every individual with autism has unique needs, and our grant addresses a wide range of challenges and needs."

Safe and Sound Schools

Joey's mother, Michele Gay, is also one of the founders of Safe and Sound Schools, promoting improved school security. Founded by parents who lost children at Sandy Hook School, Safe and Sound is a national non-profit school safety advocacy and resource center that provides research based tools and support for crisis prevention, response, and recovery, helping to protect every school, every student, every day.
